:: vavmind 000 | 2007.07.06 | vavrek.com :: this recording is a time machine. defying space and time. projection into the future. it's just started raining. eye'm in arizona right now and this is the first rain eye've seen in many weeks. yesterday, and the day before, and the day before that, there was heavy chemtrail spraying in the sky, these long white trails being put out by aeroplanes. really not sure exactly what's going on, it doesn't seem like many people do. eye've recently seen a documentary that claims all kinds of things are going on, but you never know what to believe. the rain is really starting to come down now, big drops. looking out the window at a giant mountain known as thumb butte. this is my first recording of my audio journal. eye've kept a written journal, text journal, for quite some time, and eye decided to try audio for a while. actually, with my journal, eye've kept it all in one giant html page, and the reason eye've done that is to make it, for one, easier to download, or easy to save locally, and also, easier to search. so, if you're browsing the page, all you have to do is press control - f and type in what you're looking for, and you get to see my thoughts on a particular subject. kind of a virtual personification of myself, like a virtual mind that eye'm constructing. maybe this is everyone's future. i don't know. eye'm really happy to have my laptop working again. it was really giving me lots of trouble over these past weeks. eye spent the longest time trying to figure out what was going on. there's no problem like an intermittent problem to really give you a headache in trying to diagnose it. so, turns out that a small piece of metal was lodged in one of my secondary cooling fans. but the symptoms were really troubling. what would happen is eye would boot up, and it would work fine, it was running really fast for a while. then all the sudden, about ten minutes into using it, it would just slow to an absolute crawl. it seemed like every time it warmed up a little bit, or it used a little bit of the processor too much, it would just drop to a total slow crawl that was unusable. so, eye reinstalled the operating system. eye downloaded a disc known as 'the ultimate boot cd', which includes all kinds of diagnostic programs. fantastic cd, by the way, if you wanna check it out. it's really quite amazing how much they've crammed on this cd. so, eye ran all kinds of diagnostics on the hardware and everything seemed fine. eye reinstalled the operating system. eye'm now running the latest ubuntu version, which eye believe is 7.04 right now, known as 'feisty fawn', and it's going fantastic, eye mean, it just looks wonderful. it's the best distribution eye've ever used and eye've used them all. eye've installed slackware, and debian, and all these other different distributions. eye'm really ecstatic with ubuntu and how polished it is, and how many applications are available, really very easily through their synaptic downloading manager and package manager. so anyway, after all the troubleshooting, eye eventually got to the point where eye tore the entire thing apart. eye tore my laptop completely apart, and discovered that this tiny little piece of metal was jammed in the secondary fan, so it makes sense that every time the machine got hot enough to kick on this fan, it bogged down the entire machine. it basically, you know, caused a power drain because it was trying to run this fan, and it just wouldn't move. so, eye'm really happy to be back online. eye'm really happy to be back, able to use my machine again, and able to record again. eye'm actually not going to be in arizona too much longer. eye have a plane ticket already bought for the east coast. eye'm going to be visiting my family for a while out there, and in the remaining time that eye'm here, eye'm hoping to get some recording done with emma, then we can actually get the third try^d album put together. eye actually really like how the third try^d album is ending up. it's quite a, sort of, reversal of what 'listen' was. 'listen' was a huge collaboration amongst 20 different musicians, involved so many people, and, eye don't know, things kinda went nuclear right after the release of the album, and during the release of it. so, now basically, was just a handful of people that have put this together. it has a very distinct sound. it has a very distinct energy, and eye'm really looking forward to wrapping that up and getting that out there to everyone, getting that out there to you. really enjoying how it's ending up and what it's turning out to be. it is a real departure from the last two albums actually, and eye plan with the fourth album to, kind of, return somewhat back to our original style. this album was really going out on a limb. so, all in all, eye'm doing really well, and eye just wanted to kick of this audio journal for everyone. if you like the music in the background, it is by project divinity, and the album is called 'divinity'. you can download this off jamendo for free. it's creative commons and you can copy and share it. any of the recordings that eye plan to do from this point, whether it be my journal, or a new weblife audio show that eye'm planning, eye will only include creative commons music in the background, music that can be shared, copied, remixed, you know, music that gives you freedom. so, and likewise with this recording. this is a creative commons recording. feel free to use it for any purpose that you desire. just don't lock it up, and you'll be fine. anyway, thanks for listening and eye'll have another journal entry coming soon. much love to you. take care. oh, p.s. the date on this recording is 2007.07.06, and you can contact me at vavrek@vavrek.com that's vavrek@vavrek.com. ~
